Petro-Canada Peerless Open Gear Grease is a premium open gear grease engineered. Built for use in heavily loaded, slow-speed, and shock-loaded open gear systems. Formulated with high-viscosity base oils, solid lubricants, and an advanced additive package, it provides outstanding protection against wear, corrosion, and extreme pressure in the toughest conditions.

Right from the first application, this open gear grease clings tenaciously to metal surfaces, resisting sling-off and water washout. It delivers a thick, protective lubricating film that cushions heavily loaded gear teeth and pins, even in high-impact environments such as mining, construction, steel mills, and pulp and paper plants.

Peerless OG2 is specially designed for exposed gear sets, racks, and pinions where conventional lubricants would quickly fail. Its unique blend of solid lubricants, including molybdenum disulfide (moly), creates a durable boundary layer that helps prevent scuffing, galling, and metal-to-metal contact—especially during start-up or low-speed rotation under heavy loads.

In addition, OG2 provides excellent performance in wet and dirty conditions. It seals out contaminants like dust and grit, while also protecting against rust and corrosion in humid or outdoor settings. This grease performs reliably in both cold and hot climates, with an operating temperature range of -10°C to 120°C (14°F to 248°F).

Its tacky, adhesive consistency ensures it stays where it’s applied, minimizing dripping or throw-off, even on vertical or exposed gear surfaces. This reduces relubrication frequency and helps lower overall maintenance costs.
